My paintings feature complex networks made by an accumulation of painted lines on canvas, with each new line being applied in response to the previous one, and so on... Layer by layer, the painting grows organically in the same way that can be seen in the self-organising growth patterns of nature, determining its own development. As new layers emerge, they progressively uncover hidden spaces and depth within the immersive composition, and it is through this process of building up and layering paint on the surface by which the image gets ‘discovered’, By harnessing this intuitive way of creating, I remove expectation and surrender completely to process.
